SME GAP on tour across Greater Manchester

Updated: Jul 20, 2018

Between May and August 2018 Apprenticeships are being directly promoted to SMEs across Greater Manchester. After a successful and stimulating event in February 2018 in central Manchester SME GAP partners Manchester Met University and GM Chamber of Commerce are partnering with the Greater Manchester Learning Provider Network (GMLPN) and a number of Local Authorities to bring the discussion out to other Greater Manchester Districts including Oldham, Wigan, Stockport, Rochdale, Bury, Bolton and Trafford. The same format applies, an overview from the GMLPN followed by business to business discussions of the experiences they've had. The Impact Cards are being used to stimulate discussion on the positive effects a business can have hiring an apprentice.

By the end of August SME GAP will have directly reached over 650 SMEs face to face. Key speakers are being filmed and their testimonials will feature on our website. Feedback tells us that these events are having an impact with between 50 - 70% of SMEs in attendance being more likely or very likely to hire an apprentice after their attendance.
